Compassionate pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care in Richmond, Va.
About
I firmly believe that parenthood isn’t something we were meant to do alone. As a mother of 4 kids ranging from elementary to college age, I have a deep + personal understanding of the difference support can make.
With my kids as my first teachers, wise women as my mentors, and a passion for giving back to the birth community, I launched into doula work in 2017 with my first training. Now a Certified Birth Doula (ToLabor), Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, and educator at A Brighter Birth, birth work has become both my passion and my career. Over the years I have been committed to providing evidence-based, non-judgemental, supportive care during pregnancy and beyond. From c-sections to home births, I want my clients to feel both heard and held in their experience.
In addition to my work with A Brighter Birth, my continuing education includes postpartum doula training, 200h yoga teacher training as well as workshops in herbal support, aromatherapy, acupressure, Spinning Babies, and more. In 2025 I began working with ToLabor in providing evidence-based breastfeeding training to doulas.
In addition to being a ToLabor certified birth doula, Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, and CAPPA trained postpartum doula, Sarah is a childbirth and breastfeeding educator with A Brighter Birth.
Sarah has taken additional trainings in: spinning babies techniques, acupressure for labor and postpartum, aromatherapy for birth and postpartum, yoga teacher training and herbalism, and maintains continuing education credits focused on breastfeeding.
Sarah works both independently and as part of the A Brighter Birth collective.
